Water Control Structures and Community Involvement
Crowe Valley Conservation Authority operates 13 dams along the Crowe River and its tributaries. These 13 dams helps to regulate water levels.
The CVCA has a Level 1 agreement with Fisheries and Oceans Canada, which enables the Authority to assist residents, municipalities and cottagers with any construction plans around fish habitat.
Source Water Protection
Crowe Valley Conservation Authority has partnered with four other Conservation Authorities (Lower Trent Conservation Authority, Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority, Kawartha Region Conservation Authority, Otonabee Conservation Authority) in the region to start to develop an understanding of the sources of our drinking water.
Please review our Source Water Protection Section for more detailed information.
