Dams

Why do we need Dams?

  • To control floods
  • To regulate water levels
  • To store water for drinking, industry or irrigation
  • To raise river levels for navigation
  • To store water for hydroelectric power

Crowe Valley Conservation Authority's main activity is flood control. It operates and maintains a system of dams and weirs on the Crowe River and its tributaries. The dams are located at;

- Wollaston Lake - Belmont Lake
- Allan Mills - Crowe Bridge
- Marmora - Cashel Lake
- Oak Lake - Paudash Lake
- Cordova Lake - St. Ola Lake
- Round Lake - Kasshabog Lake
- Lasswade Lake - Steenburg Lake
- Methuen Lake
