Provincial Water Quality Monitoring Network

The Provincial Water Quality Monitoring Network (PWQMN) is a collaboration between Conservation Authorities and the Ministry of the Environment. The objective of PWQMN is to collect surface water samples on a monthly basis (except for in the winter months) across the Crowe Valley watershed. There are five active stations that are collected on a monthly basis by the Crowe Valley staff. These samples are analyzed for a variety of parameters including pH, conductivity, alkalinity, major ions and metals. The data gathered from this sampling is used to ensure the quality of the surface water for both human and aquatic life. This regular collection of water quality data enhances Crowe Valley's understanding of current, and long term water quality condtions across the watershed.
