NEW TRAIL AT THE MCGEACHIE CONSERVATION AREA
The Crowe Valley Conservation Authority has the opportunity to expand on the hiking trail system at the McGeachie Conservation Area. Since 2012, a diverse trail system was created for the public to either go for a leisurely stroll through the forest or for the extremist who finds it a rush to hike or bike along steep rocky trails. There was even forethought of having loops from trail to trail allowing you to shorten or tone down your trip if you wish. On Thursday December 10, 2015 Tim Pidduck, the General Manager from the CVCA, Mike Sherwin, the Norwood H.S. Forestry Teacher and Terry Brandt, an Environmental Specialist, attended the McGeachie C.A. and undertook to delineate the new hiking trail by tagging the trees with florescent orange flagging tape. The construction of the new hiking trail will veer off of one of the existing leisurely trails and will venture into 40 acres of untouched wilderness just waiting to be explored. We have something unique to bring forth to our watershed and it is our mission to accomplish this and with your support we should be able to achieve this. You must be the change you wish to see in your Watershed. Dare to be the force of nature and be the reason to spearhead this cause. The success of the CVCA initiatives relies solely on the charitable in-kind gifts and monetary donations from you, our Watershed residents.
